As has been widely reported, Avengers: Endgame Extra Contains new scenes designed to create a direct connection to the next cinematic chapter in the series, Avengers: Doomsday. The main change is in the film’s ending, which has been partially revised compared to the version released in 2019.

The original coda ended with a dance between Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter, which actually added one more scene. Although Russell didn’t offer any further details about the plot, this scene seems like enough to justify Steve and Peggy’s presence in the next movie. Elements such as TVA and the multiple “invasions” appearing in another post-credits Easter egg hint at the relationship with TV series “Loki” season 2 finale.
To support this argument, a recent trailer for Avengers: Endgame showed Steve Rogers holding a TVA card decorated with Yggdrasil tree. Therefore, Rogers and Carter’s plane of time was most likely threatened by an invasion, and Loki stepped in to save them, giving them the object in this new encounter. The exact development of these narrative premises will be clarified with the release of the new Avengers.
