Today, Forza Horizon 3 turns 10 years old, and just as players remember it Reddit. The project from Playground Games studio was released on September 27, 2016 on Xbox One and PC. It became an icon of the series for a number of reasons.
Forza Horizon 3 is the first game in the series to be released not only on consoles but also on PC. It also becomes the first game in the series to support Play Anywhere – players who purchase the Xbox One version will receive the PC version immediately, with all saves synced between platforms.
“Forza Horizon 3” is set in Australia, and the developers have built it into the largest open map in the series to date. From the beginning, there were over 350 cars in the game, with many more added. The game’s Blizzard Mountain DLC was released in December 2016, and the main Hot Wheels expansion was released in May 2017.
On Reddit, many players said they were introduced to the series through Forza Horizon 3. Some of them even said they purchased an Xbox One specifically for the project.
The Forza Horizon 3 game was discontinued on September 27, 2020, but the game can still be purchased in digital key format or on disk (in 2024, the game even topped the Russian sales chart). A player on Reddit wrote that after Forza Horizon 6, they launched Forza Horizon 3. The game is still good from a graphics perspective, but it is limited to 30 FPS on the Xbox console.
