Grand Theft Auto VI will be released in November and is Rockstar’s first new game since 2018’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Support for the new GTA will continue for many years, and there’s no word yet on the studio’s next project. However, according to rumors, Rockstar is already working on L.A. Noir 2.
The first news that Rockstar was working on “L.A. Noire 2” appeared on GTAForums as early as 2023. Now about these rumors Attention againThis follows a new statement from Take-Two management regarding the potential return of the old Rockstar franchise. Later, anonymous sources said that “L.A. Noire 2” is in the early stages of development and will be released no earlier than 2030.
An insider said in 2023 that the sequel to “L.A. Noir” will be set in San Francisco and the central plot will be related to the Zodiac. According to him, Rockstar plans to reuse the face-scanning technology used to create the original L.A. Noire, but significantly expand its functionality. He also noted that the developers worked hard to achieve the most realistic visual components in the game.
The news has resurfaced again, as the same source previously released development details for Grand Theft Auto VI. He specifically stated that Rockstar considered four main characters for the game early on, but later focused on Jason and Lucia. He also talked about the crime profile in the game, among other things. Many of the details in his previous posts coincide with official information about GTA 6, which is why his past posts about the L.A. Noir sequel have once again sparked discussion.
The original L.A. Noir was released in 2011 and was developed by Team Bondi with participation from Rockstar Games. The project then separately highlighted its MotionScan technology, which is used to capture characters’ facial expressions.
