Bulkhead studio head Joe Brammer is once again in the spotlight of the gaming world. In addition to the controversial statement that follows about the culture of production crunch (he reiterates that overtime with proper compensation and incentives is acceptable, and that the problem itself does not just boil down to management errors), the developer also concluded that tactical shooter Wardogs is off to a good start.
The project launched into early access in September and has seen impressive sales, but its sudden popularity has posed a severe test for the team. Brammer said the studio felt “a little out of control” due to the influx of players and the need to urgently strengthen protection against cheaters and defend against DDoS attacks. So last week the developers had to take a short break after a grueling marathon to prepare for the game’s development.
