Modder PureDark demonstrated NVIDIA Reflex 2-like technology in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The video posted shows how Frame Warp works, a method that allows you to reduce control latency by adjusting drawn frames and taking into account the nearest camera position. This causes mouse movements to appear on screen faster than normal rendering.
The principle of operation is that the system receives the current data about the mouse movement and uses it to change the perspective of the frame before it is displayed on the screen. As a result, players can react faster to what’s going on and aim more accurately. At the same time, this technology does not replace mature rendering, but corrects the image that the graphics card has already prepared.
NVIDIA launched Reflex 2 in January 2025, but the company has said little about further development of the technology since then. This was supposed to be the next step in reducing system latency, but the timing for full implementation remains unclear.
