Veteran players of the action shooter ARC Raiders will no longer have to take a trip down memory lane. Virgil Watkins, the project’s design director, announced in a recent Twitch broadcast that dynamic loot areas will appear on the Pendora Pass map in an upcoming Frozen update.
According to the developers, the system is designed to diversify the usual attempts: now the values of key points (POIs) marked in red and yellow on the map will change randomly between sessions. If a particular area promised rich loot last time, the next run may end up with average or lower potential, forcing players to change plans on the fly and take risks for better resources.
This innovation is another bold move from Embark Studios, who are actively experimenting with the game’s balance and formula. Previously, the studio also announced a separate PvE test, specifically for players who prefer to cooperate and are not threatened by PvP skirmishes from behind.
