Microsoft announced as scheduled that Windows 11 26H2 is now available for download on all compatible devices. The new version of the software platform is built on the same code base as Windows 11 25H2 and even Windows 11 24H2. Therefore, this update will not bring any brand new features that were not present in the previous version, but it is a checkpoint that will enable features that have been added over the past 12 months.

Microsoft also clarified that Windows 11 26H2 is an activation package, which is a small update that contains new features that are already in the system due to previous monthly updates. Windows 11 26H2 reset supports life counter. This means that users of devices running this version of the operating system will receive 24 months of security updates and new features (for Home and Professional editions). The commercial version will be supported for 36 months.
