Announced a few weeks ago at BlizzCon, Xal’atath is finally coming to Heroes of the Storm as the first new hero in nearly six years, and Blizzard has launched a Twitch Drops promotion that will run until October 5th.
This assassin-class ranged hero with the power of the void is the 91st character in the game. To demonstrate her power, Saratate wields the Heart of Darkness, which she can summon onto the battlefield. The longer she stays in the fight, the more dangerous she becomes.

Before the official release, the character was tested on the PTR and the team made some adjustments to the final version. Now that Xal’atat has appeared in the game, a cinematic overview of her abilities has been released, and the Twitch Drops event has been launched, which will run until October 5th.
Blizzard will move the game into support mode as early as 2022 and focus on optimization and balancing. About a year and a half later, the developers decided to expand the support program by adding new content: redesigning the heroes’ abilities, returning to the haunted mine map, and updating the talent system. A year ago, Saratat’s work began.
Speaking at BlizzCon, Blizzard president Joanna Faris hinted that the surprises wouldn’t end there. The team has now confirmed that a 92nd hero is in development, but details are currently being kept under wraps.
