It is understood that in early 2027 Valve plan It’s no longer up to developers, publishers, and the Steam team to create carefully curated promotion calendars in the Discounts & Events section.
According to Valve, given that user tastes are so diverse and there are so many relevant and readily available offers, the limitations associated with manually compiling the calendar don’t make sense.

“By moving away from this approach, more sales and discounted games will have the opportunity to appear on Steam’s homepage and other sections, rather than being restricted to a small, fixed number of slots.”Valve explained.
