The creators of strategy game Heroes of Might and Magic: The Old Age have released a major update for October, bringing many important features to the game that the community has been requesting since the project entered Early Access. The highlight of this patch is the launch of a mature alliance system, ushering in the era of team games.
What changed in patch v.0.81.02:
- Alliances and Cooperation: Players can now form teams in PvE and PvP. A feature of this mode is parallel and simultaneous movement without the cumbersome waiting for allies, as well as the ability to freely transfer artifacts, troops and resources to each other through special interfaces “Strong Points” and “Pocket Dimensions”.
- Completely Random Map Generator: For fans of casual PvE exploration, a separate generation mode has been added to create unique maps “from scratch” according to specified settings (size, symmetry, victory conditions, rich resources) without relying on predictable templates.
- Redesigned save and interface: Save and load windows have a convenient structure, divided by activity profile, scenario and match type, as well as flexible filters.
- Updated Reaction Wheels and Matchmaking: Emotes are now available directly in battles and cities, and the rating table has been completely reset due to a redesign of the calibration formula and the effect of ranking on points.
- Massive bug fixes: Eliminated dozens of bugs related to AI behavior, trap operation, specific skills (including undead and unique creature abilities), and network session stability.
future plans
The developers won’t stop there. Fans can look forward to a new PvE adventure as early as October, followed by a massive balance patch (with a public beta branch rolling out ahead of launch), a rework of the Templar faction’s skills, new artifacts, and the return of classic creatures to the adventure map.
