On October 1, Russia celebrates Data Processing Center Workers’ Day (DPC). This is a professional holiday for experts responsible for the design, construction and operation of modern digital infrastructure.
The history of this festival began in 2022, when the Association of Data Center Industry Players established it to commemorate a major event – the issuance of Order No. 597 on the establishment of computer centers under the State Planning Committee of the USSR on October 1, 1959, for which a special building was later built in Moscow, which became the predecessor of the modern Russian data center.
The data center industry has changed dramatically over the past few years. The latest data centers support the entire digital economy, from cloud and banking systems to telecommunications, all types of online services and enterprise IT infrastructure, all built on the company’s own facilities and cloud platforms.

After the widespread application of artificial intelligence technology, the data center industry has gained new momentum for development. Artificial intelligence requires a large amount of computing resources and a large amount of memory to train and run, so the creation of new data centers is becoming one of the key carriers of technology development.
Behind data center infrastructure are people—builders, engineers, programmers, electrical engineers, system administrators, and information security experts, as well as representatives of many other professions. All this ensures uninterrupted operation of the data center.
I wish you uninterrupted operation of your systems and new professional achievements!
