Bandai Namco is gearing up to release Ace Combat 8 Tefu Wings, the long-awaited new installment in the hit series, which will be released on October 2, but customers can already access it by pre-ordering the expansion. The game itself received high praise from critics, with many praising its graphics. The project runs on Unreal Engine 5, and now you can see it in action on Xbox Series X|S.
Testing Ace Combat 8: Tef Wings on Xbox Series X
On Xbox Series X, players can choose from two modes in the new Ace Combat:
- Quality. Upgraded 4K resolution. The game strives for 60 FPS, but barely reaches that value. The average frame rate is 40 to 50, sometimes 30-35.
- Performance. Resolution 1080p. The game runs at an almost stable 60 frames per second, with 3-5 FPS drops rarely occurring.
Testing Ace Combat 8 Wings of Tef on Xbox Series S
On Xbox Series S, “Ace Combat 8: Wings of Tef” only has one graphics mode, which is not particularly stable. The upgraded game resolution is approximately 1080p. Frame rates tend toward 60 frames per second, but don’t actually hit that level in games. Average FPS is around 40-55, sometimes dropping to close to 35. Frame rate drops can be observed in both third-person and “in-cockpit” formats.
