Developers at Rockstar are revealing more and more details about Grand Theft Auto VI. This week, a slew of material was published on Game Informer, in which the studio discusses the many small moments that should take the game’s gameplay and realism to the next level compared to the previous installment – from weather conditions to animal details.
Rockstar co-CEO Aaron Garbutt also said TellThe studio decided not to compromise on GTA 6. He pointed out that the creation of every large project always assumes where and how to allocate resources and where to “shrink” to maximize expression in another location. But in the case of Grand Theft Auto VI, the developers didn’t make any sacrifices, understanding the world’s general expectations for a new installment in the popular series.
Since this project brought us so much pressure, we decided to deal with it in a very simple way – to do everything we could to exceed expectations. There are often trade-offs to be made in design, such as sacrificing scale for detail or detail for interactivity. But in this project we took a different path. We take everything to the extreme and push it to its limits – the detail, scale, scope, interaction and density of the world. I don’t think we’ve ever created anything even close to this before.
Grand Theft Auto VI will be released on November 19th on Xbox Series X | S and Playstation 5. Technical experts at Digital Foundry believe the game will only be released on current-gen consoles in 30 FPS mode, which they call a “conscious choice” by Rockstar.
