Studio One More Level and publisher Lyrical Games have released a review trailer for Valor Mortis, a first-person soul-killing game due out in two weeks. The developer also introduced the game’s cast.
The story takes place in an alternate Eastern Europe during the Napoleonic Wars, where a deadly plague broke out. The protagonist William is a British soldier on the French side. He was killed in the battle, but was unexpectedly resurrected and heard the voice of Napoleon himself. Meanwhile, surviving colleagues turn into monsters.
The combat system is based on fast-paced combat, using light and powerful attacks, parries, and dodges. Your arsenal will include various types of guns and bladed weapons, and supernatural abilities will allow you, for example, to shoot fire from your hands and use magical hooks.
To defeat his enemies, William acquires fencing, shooting, and the catalyst for mutant development. In addition, the structure can be changed using amber stones with unique effects, and weapons can be improved.
The world is built according to the classic rules of the genre: interconnected locations, rest and fast travel points, secrets, puzzles, mini-bosses and bosses. Players will discover villages, caves, fortresses, and other places transformed by the plague.
Valor Mortis will be released on October 13th on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
