Something big is about to happen in the world of extreme overclocking. Vince Lucido, better known to millions of fans by his pseudonym KINGPIN, has announced a return to daily activities and the launch of a new dedicated YouTube channel. After EVGA exited the market and failed to partner with PNY, many feared the legendary engineer would eventually retire and focus on his passion – electric bicycles.
However, the love for liquid nitrogen and world records prevailed. In his latest video, Vince admits that he really misses overclocking, which he has devoted more than 25 years to. The new workshop allowed him to equip a complete testing laboratory and, most importantly, the overclocker revealed the fact that he was in lengthy negotiations with ASUS executives. The Taiwanese giant actually contacted him personally and convinced the master to return to the industry.
Lucido emphasized that he already has hardware from Asus and Corsair on hand for the first experiments, but urged fans not to have high expectations. Whether the company will release the iconic flagship graphics card ROG Matrix KINGPIN or we are talking about optimizing something already available remains unknown. Vince promised to reveal details of the collaboration over time on his new channel.
