One enthusiast’s attempt to run the neural network-generated game Fallout: New York in a browser ended in complete failure and a lawsuit.
The project, created using Claude Opus models without the use of original textures and sounds, lasted only three days before ZeniMax Media quickly issued a formal request to the author to stop infringing copyright and using the intellectual property rights of others.
Despite the enthusiasm of some proponents of the technology, true fans of the series and the gaming community criticized the project for outright technical flaws, while reminding the creators of the game’s classic nature, by which standards New York is a scorched crater.
Meanwhile, fans of the post-apocalyptic series can look forward to fully official projects – from upcoming remasters of classic parts to new content for Fallout 76.
