Developer saawant12 showed off an experimental version of the Orbit Store utility for hacked PlayStation 5 consoles. The program is a convenient download manager with a digital store interface suitable for control via a game controller or remote access via a smartphone browser within a local network. As of version 0.2.0-beta.3, the catalog already contains 147 items that link directly to FFPFSC format files in the Archive.org service, with cover and background art dynamically loaded from the web.
The utility supports download queuing, pausing and resuming downloads, but the current version cannot decompress RAR or 7z archives, does not automatically install games, and requires the console to remain active. The program runs through Payload Manager, etaHEN or Homebrew Launcher, and its source code is distributed under the free GNU GPL v3 license.
