Nothing’s now-independent budget brand CMF has unveiled the CMF Speaker Series, its first portable Bluetooth speakers. Like other CMF products, the new speakers combine an affordable price, original design and bright colors. Although the company did not name the source of inspiration for its new products, it is difficult not to see them as hypertrophied milk cartons.

CMF offers two versions of the CMF Speaker Series of different sizes and power in white, dark grey, orange and turquoise. The junior model CMF Speaker S, priced at $59, is equipped with a 45 mm wide-range speaker and two passive radiators that enhance low frequencies. The larger $109 CMF Speaker M features two speakers: a 10-watt tweeter and a 25-watt woofer, which should provide more powerful bass and better separation between instruments and vocals.

Both speakers have a battery life of up to 18 hours, are IP68 water and dust resistant, and have a custom sound profile via the Nothing X app. Other features include the ability to simultaneously connect to two devices for quick switching, Bluetooth 6 support, quick pairing via NFC, Google Fast Pair or Microsoft Swift Pair, and audio transmission via a USB Type-C cable.
In addition, you can pair two Speaker S or two Speaker M speakers (you cannot combine different models) to operate in stereo mode. Also announced is the ability to synchronize playback on several speakers simultaneously, including with models from other manufacturers, thanks to the Party Mode based on Auracast technology.

Customization options also extend to the appearance of the devices. The multi-function control on the front panel and the entire speaker faceplate—including the vertical loop on top from which the unit can be hung—are easily removed and replaced with different designs. CMF plans to publish official files for 3D printing these elements
