Nightingale was presented at Gamescom 2023 and turned out to be an “impressive graphics cracker” in the eyes of PCGH. The production from Inflexion Games was switched from Unreal Engine 4 to version 5 during the development process, which makes it even more interesting. The action RPG will go into early access on Tuesday next week and can then be purchased on Steam or the Epic Games Store. If you take the follower numbers and position on the global Steam wishlist as a guide, the release of Nightingale should make waves.
Inflexion Games invites you to the FAQ – and that is not without controversy
The developers at Inflexion Games have now answered various questions via the short message service Twitter, some of the answers to which were already known in advance. Of course, the question of cost is important and Nightingale will cost $30 when it is released. The euro price is also expected to move in this range. According to the developers, anyone who has a problem with the first-person perspective can also enjoy the third-person perspective. This was implemented in Nightingale in 2023, but is said to be even more error-prone initially.

The answer will be pleasing for Steam Deck enthusiasts: Nightingale’s compatibility with Valve’s handheld is in the works and will be implemented with an update after release. What could raise eyebrows among some players, however, is the always-on requirement, i.e. an internet connection that must be maintained permanently. This is necessary to connect the players to the realms – despite the single player option. “Our vision for Nightingale is to create a unique shared realmscape where players can travel seamlessly between realms – alone or together,” adds Inflexion Games.

Nightingale | PREVIEW | A magical fairytale world awaits
Suitable for: UE5 graphics cracker Nightingale: Something is brewing before the release
There is also partial support for controllers in Nightingale, as well as dedicated servers, but no private servers at the early access launch. What some players might also dislike is the lack of support for community mods. However, this is a topic for Inflexion Games that they would like to look at in the course of further development. Anyone who agrees with all of Nightingale’s framework and can forgive performance weaknesses or bugs in early access status should make a note of February 20th, when the impressive graphics cracker appears on Steam or in the Epic Games Store.
