The first mid-size crossover, the BMW X5, was available with a six- or eight-cylinder petrol engine or a six-cylinder diesel engine, and the world has since come to love this model from the Bavarian giant. They didn’t put anything bigger or more powerful on it. But that doesn’t mean the idea of ”screwing” something extraordinary behind the scenes must die in the bud.

Well, Car Week in Monterey, USA, has been going on for several days and lasts until August 16th. will be displayed Unique first-generation BMW X5 (E53 body) equipped with a 507-horsepower 10-cylinder S85 5-liter V-engine. This engine powers the iconic BMW M5 E60 sports car.
In addition, this engine is paired with the same manual transmission as the M5, which is generally natural: good ones are not sought after, and if something initially runs smoothly, then there is no need to change anything. As for the space under the hood, the 5-liter monster will obviously fit there easily, since, as we already pointed out in the first paragraph, the first-generation production X5 was available with an optional V-shaped “eight” engine with a capacity of up to 4.8 liters.
The project to equip the BMW X5 E53 with the M5 E60 engine was implemented jointly by the American brand Kith and the Bavarian company.
