As project manager Jess Reiner-Reed said in an interview IGNMarvel’s Wolverine’s base mode on PS5 will be 60 fps, and Insomniac uses ray tracing for the first time.
“We decided early in development that we wanted to achieve 60fps in the base PS5’s performance mode. We definitely achieved that goal. The game runs very smoothly”,” Reiner-Reed said proudly.
In-game suits will respawn with Wolverine
Insomniac CTO Mike Fitzgerald said the ambitious optimization goals were born when developers decided to enable ray tracing in performance mode.
“This will be a 60fps game with ray tracing, just like on PS5. We will build the game around that. This will be the first time for our game that there will be a Standard mode. This is very important for presentation.”– Confident Fitzgerald.
Fitzgerald also stressed that Insomniac invested a lot of time and money into developing the world. Urban areas are filled with destructible objects, and in nature, leaves and trees react vividly to wind, people, and the environment.
Marvel’s Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026, exclusively for PlayStation 5, starting at $70. According to Sony’s new strategy for major PlayStation exclusives, the game may not be coming to PC.
