Good news for fans of both popular game franchises: As part of its current quarterly report, Embracer Group has narrowed the release window for Darksiders 4 and the next Kingdom Come. The two productions are scheduled to be launched in the 2027/28 financial year (that is, the end of March 2028).
As part of its latest quarterly data presentation, Sweden’s Embracer Group has provided an outlook on its upcoming product line-up. The stipulations in the financial report on the publication cycles of two heavyweights have attracted widespread attention: the fourth part of the Darksiders saga and the next online or medieval project from the makers of Kingdom Come are both confirmed for release in the 2027/28 fiscal year.
The period specified in the report extends from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028. This creates a more specific framework for Darksiders 4, which is being developed by development studio Gunfire Games (best known for the Remnant series). Following the release of the first trailer in 2025, players can look forward to jumping back into battle as one of the Knights of Doom on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S during this time window.
Warhorse Studios’ next Kingdom Come universe spin-off is also scheduled to launch in the same fiscal year. In the overview, Embracer still hasn’t confirmed whether this will be a straight Kingdom Come 3 or a different project within the same setting. Recently, when a trademark entry for Kingdom Come: Redemption was discovered, there was at least a preliminary signal that one should be happy to know that it won’t be another seven years before there’s a successor.
In addition to these two books, the group also looks ahead to further publications in the coming years. The company’s plans include Crystal Dynamics’ Tomb Raider Catalyst and Metro 2039, a new game in the Metro series set to launch in February 2027.
