
As part of the D23 event, Disney and Pixar showed off the first materials for the animated film Coco 2, confirming that the film will be released in November 2029.
In the footage shown, viewers see a mature teenager Miguel and his dog Dante. Actor Benjamin Bratt revealed that Ernesto de la Cruz will return to the plot with the intention of avenging his ruined career and legacy, which will force Miguel to once again travel to the world of the dead to team up with the star villain.
Original film director Lee Unkrich will return to produce the sequel. The first one was released in 2017, grossing over $800 million at the global box office and winning two Oscars.
