According to insider RebsGaming, Halo Studios is increasingly moving development of its projects to outside teams. This approach is said to have been used not only in the production of the recently released Halo: Campaign Evolved.
According to an insider, “Halo: Campaign Evolved” mentioned 15 third-party studios, covering different areas of work. These include A Rival, FX Chamber, Devoted, Digic, Keywords Studios, Sparxsoft, Snowed In Studios, Skybox Labs, Sprung Studios, Virtuos, Ninja Theory, Turn 10 Studios and Rare. It is said that another team, Abstraction, is also involved in the development.
At the same time, it’s clear that this isn’t just support work. Virtuos can take full responsibility for the art production, including the creation of the world, characters, vehicles and weapons. In turn, abstraction handles story missions from initial concept to final refinement, including staging events and game balance. Her contract with Halo Studios was later terminated due to development issues.
Does it matter to you that the game is outsourced?
