With the release of the Google Pixel 11 smartphone, the Gboard Rambler smart keyboard debuts, which has advanced voice capabilities. Like many AI-based applications, part of its operations are performed through cloud resources, and you don’t have free, unlimited access to them. But even in offline mode, it can do a lot.

Google’s support page for the Gboard Rambler app states that the app connects to cloud resources for high-quality speech transcription. It has some usage limits, and when those limits are exhausted and the Internet connection isn’t fast enough or doesn’t exist at all, the keyboard switches to offline mode, losing some functionality.
Fortunately, for most users, this will not affect the quality of its work – it will perform its basic functions even when working directly on the device. “In offline mode, Rambler still removes filler words from dictation, and adds punctuation and controls case. More complex commands primarily require a network connection – for example, when rewriting in a certain style, or when requesting to shorten a block of text.”a Google representative explained to the source Android Authority.
