Bubble Bobble Candy Dungeon is trying it again with a free big update called “Enhancement”

Arc System Works and Taito Corporation announced today (August 20, 2026)“Enhanced” update Every Bubble Bobble Dungeon. The free update, available for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PC versions (via Steam), is being released to celebrate the series’ fortieth anniversary and, we might add, to try and revive the game and bring it back to center stage.

The base game, which features dungeon crawling and players using bubble mechanics to defeat enemies and create platforms, has been expanded upon by introducing new optional gameplay sections. By finding and passing through the “Bob’s Door” in the level, players will be able to enter “Bob’s Room,” a hub that allows you to choose between three different paths: a skip door, a combo room, and an item room.

In the combo room, the goal is to eliminate multiple enemies at once to build up combos. These actions allow you to reset the “Baron Timer”, delaying the appearance of baron von brubaras invincible as ever.

L’item room Instead, it contains random chests and items, including new temporary items that disappear at the end of the current session (once you return to the lobby). New items include “Chack’n Cake,” a nod to the original that guarantees temporary invincibility and lets you destroy enemies on contact; “x2 Gummy,” which doubles the materials obtained from chests (which can be used to purchase upgrades for protagonist Bub); and “Gold Sugarees,” which doubles the eponymous in-game currency that can be used in the store.

This content adds to the game’s existing features, which include the explorable “Castle” stage and the Bubble Symphony transformation.

To coincide with the launch of the update, we have launched a temporary promotion with a 25% discount on the digital version of the base game. The offer is valid until September 3 on Steam, on the Nintendo Switch eShop until September 4, and on the PlayStation Store for PS5 until September 10. Bundles containing Bubble Bobble 4 Friends are also available on Steam.
