At the end of this year’s major e-sports event – the 2026 Shanghai International Invitational Tournament, they met in a dramatic final with a score of 3:2 team spirit and Team vision – triggered a strong influx of players into Dota 2. Last weekend, the peak of online gaming on Steam exceeded the 1 million concurrent users mark, reaching a peak that the game has not seen since 2022.
However, the surge in activity was not without technical difficulties: the official servers were overloaded due to the avalanche of players, and some in the community complained about connectivity and stability issues in the competition. However, such impressive numbers clearly show that interest in the Dota 2 competitive scene and the game itself remains at incredibly high levels.
