Swedish publisher and developer Paradox Interactive (Crusader Kings, Stellaris, Europa Universalis) is getting ready to announce a new global strategy, but he seems to have inadvertently taken the wraps off the project a little early.

how noticed Reddit user RedCreatorCall first “lit up” the name of the new project in the public list of unreleased games on Paradox’s official forum – the development project is called Afterworld.
Even more telling is the leak of the official Paradox Discord account. Reddit member, pseudonym DimDimio Found Afterworld Community Server – Features key artwork and a short description of the game.
Contrary to the hopes of Paradox fans (many were counting on a game in the fantasy genre), Afterworld is a global strategy game in an original post-apocalyptic setting (see image below).
According to the leak, Afterlife players will lead a tribe of survivors, manage wasteland settlements, rediscover ancient technology, organize wars of conquest and lead political struggles.
We won’t have to wait too long for official news about Afterworld. paradox actively hint The new global strategy was revealed as part of the opening ceremony for the upcoming Gamescom 2026 game show.
The opening night live show (that’s the name of the broadcast) will start on August 25 at 21:00 Moscow time. The main program will be approximately two hours long, followed by a 30-minute preview.
