CD Projekt RED has announced the release window for action role-playing game The Witcher IV. The new installment in the famous series will be released in 2028 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The developer has not yet revealed a specific date.
The information was announced by CD Projekt RED co-CEO Michal Nowakowski. He also confirmed that The Witcher IV will not be shown at Gamescom 2026, so there is no need to wait for a new trailer for the game at the show.
“Of course, there’s still a lot to do in the world of The Witcher. Our team at CD Projekt RED HQ is hard at work developing a new saga centered on Ciri. Over 500 talented developers are creating something truly special. The Witcher IV will deliver a massive and immersive open world, fast-paced, action-packed gameplay, and a deep, emotional story that we hope will stick with you for a long time to come.”
At Gamescom 2026, CD Projekt RED will focus on another project. Visitors will get their first full look at the Song of the Past add-on content for The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt, which is scheduled for release in 2027. The developer promises to deliver its dark story and new content.
The Witcher IV will be the first game in the new saga to feature Ciri.
