Nagash, one of the Old World’s most powerful villains, is preparing to return in Total War: Warhammer 3. The creator of necromancy has once again amassed an army of the undead, intent on conquering all creatures he considers his children.
The story of Nagash begins with Kemri, the eldest son of King Hitep and the priest who leads the cult of the dead. It was he who discovered necromancy for mankind and created the elixir of life, which allowed mankind to greatly extend its lifespan. After seizing the throne, Nagash went to war with the other rulers of Nehekhara, but was defeated and forced to escape. He later discovered the Twisted Stone and built the Fortress of Nagashzar on Krypton Peak, gaining the power to perform rituals capable of destroying all life on Nehekhara.
The ritual was successful, but Nagash himself was killed by King Alkadiza, and the Skaven gave him a special sword made of curved stone. The Necromancer still retained his soul and was resurrected centuries later. In Age of Sigmar, he attempted to reclaim the crown, fought Sigmar himself, and died again. Now, thanks to the efforts of Arkhan the Black and Manfred von Carstein, Nagash rises again. As the forces of Chaos threaten the world, intent on transforming all inhabitants into an eternal army of the undead, the Necromancer’s ultimate goal is nothing less than attaining divine status.
