Publishers NetEase and Joker Studio have resumed active promotional activity surrounding multiplayer gacha game Sea of Ruins, dedicated to the age of pirates. After months of rare teasers on social networks, the developers have announced that a large-scale closed beta is coming, with the date to be officially announced as part of the Gamescom exhibition and Opening Night Live.
The project is gearing up for a grand cross-platform launch: support has been announced for PC (including Steam, EGS, its own launcher, and the Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5 console (and Pro version), Xbox Series X|S, mobile devices running iOS and Android, and portable systems like the ROG Xbox Ally X and Xbox Cloud service.
Meanwhile, Gamescom attendees will be the first to experience 20-minute game demos at publisher booths.
