At the opening ceremony of Gamescom 2026, the remake of the legendary turn-based strategy game “Heroes of Might and Magic III” released in 1999 had its world premiere. The developers promise to maintain the foundation of the classic turn-based strategy but completely update the visuals, animations and sounds.
Heroes of Might and Magic III Remastered will once again take place in Erathia. The remake will offer nine factions, with their own playstyles and creature sets. Players must explore the map, collect resources and artifacts, develop cities, recruit armies, and upgrade heroes. One of the main changes is the new way the story campaign is presented. All original campaigns from both expansions will be combined into one story, complemented by new prologues, epilogues, and cinematic scenes.
The developer also confirmed online and local combat. Up to eight opponents can participate in an online game, and the “One Computer” mode will retain the ability to take turns, form alliances, and change attitudes toward other players during the game. An editor will be available for fans of user-generated content. On launch day, you’ll be able to launch community maps, as well as create your own maps and campaigns, and adjust balance.
A release date for Heroes of Might and Magic III Remastered has yet to be announced, but you can already add the game to your wish list by: steam.
