Playground Games talked about its plans for an upcoming update for Forza Horizon 6. The developers plan to add new modes, cars, and a partnership with 7-Eleven to the game in the fall. Some of the content will be available in September, immediately following the conclusion of the current Horizon Mascot Party series. Here are the key points shared by the developers.
New drift attack mode
Launching in the game on September 7th is the “Drift Attack” mode, which combines the freedom of the drift zone with the competitiveness of a horizon drift race. The campaign will take place directly in the open world. To compete, players must travel to Island Hill Raceway, drive through special starting structures, and gain as many points as possible through controlled drifts.
You can participate alone, with friends, or with other players from around the world. Points can be earned for drifting, and there are special precise areas on the track. If you slide within such an area, the score you earn increases. There is no limit to the number of laps, you can continue racing as long as you can improve your performance.
Drift Attack will provide leaderboards. This menu also allows you to compare results by drive type. This new event will become a permanent part of Shimanoyama Circuit, and in future updates, Playground Games plans to add temporary drifting competitions in an ever-changing world.
At the same time, “Drift Attack” will also be included in the Horizon Challenge event. Completing the content will reward you with a special 1990 Jaguar XJ-S Forza Edition. To enter this mode, you need to obtain the Yellow Horizon Festival Bracelet.

On September 10th, a new series dedicated to British cars will begin. The game will feature 3 new cars from the series in the holiday quest list, with 4 more cars available for Car Pass owners. At present, the specific model has not yet been determined.
The developers also promise players the opportunity to purchase rare and iconic British cars at competitive prices in showrooms during the corresponding Horizon Festival.
Partner with 7-11
In the October update, the developers plan to partner with the popular chain 7-Eleven. According to Playground Games, the idea for the collaboration came about after players made suggestions through the Forza feedback portal. The developers plan to integrate 7-Eleven directly into the Japanese gaming world, but it’s unclear what changes will happen to the map and what activities the brand will have.
A set of EventLab content will be published separately. It should provide players with thematic elements to create their own events, but its exact composition has yet to be revealed.
Part of the partnership will include the 2020 Toyota GR Supra 7-Eleven Edition, which will be available with participating 7-Eleven products in retail stores starting in October 2026. In the first phase, the promotion will take place in the United States (including Puerto Rico) and Canada, and starting in January 2027, the list of promotional countries will be expanded.
