Well-known YouTuber Kanon, who specializes in the MMORPG genre and has played around 1,000 hours of Aion 2 since its release in South Korea, has shared his final opinion ahead of the game’s global release on October 5.
This blogger compares NCSoft’s new product to lost arknoting a similar end-game loop of raids and dungeons, a system for developing “twinks” to strengthen the protagonist, and similar Free2Play elements with a focus on Pay2Progress.
Cannon said the project would inevitably lose Western audiences due to strict monetization and a routine of repeat events. However, bloggers praise the game’s soft vertical progression: unlike other Korean MMORPGs, the time invested here clearly translates into character strength over a long period of time, creating an enjoyable progression of power fantasy.
