Mask of Souls has received a major update, Beyond Gravity, which expands on the final installment of the Quicksand expansion. Players will discover new dangerous territories, underground ruins, powerful mechanical enemies, and three masks with completely different fighting styles.
The main novelty is the Burning Highlands area, located beyond the golden sands of the desert. Heat, ferocious beasts and sand pirates rule here, and the main landmark is the last pyramid, which is no longer protected from deadly sandstorms. This territory, along with a huge warship, was captured by the bandit leader. You can reach your destination on the ground, or you can rise into the air with the help of a mask and board the spaceship directly through the intense firepower of the ship.
Hidden deep within the Burning Highlands is the new Shrine complex. A huge underground structure in the shape of an inverted pyramid is connected to four underground cities located at the cardinal points. After passing all tests, the central portal will open, and the mechanical enemy “God’s Punishment” is waiting for the player behind the portal. His throne can be turned into a deadly weapon, and poisonous gas gradually fills the arena.
Victory will unlock three new masks. The Shadow Hunter increases mobility and allows you to summon ghost cats, the Ruler of the Barren Sands deals damage around you and becomes more dangerous at low health, and the Enforcer uses gravitational waves and is able to levitate hordes of enemies into the air. Each mask has its own fighting style and significantly changes the way combat is usually fought.
