The team at Visionary Realms has shared a new report on the development of Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. It tells the story of the progress of work on the game world, new tools, and armor systems – all of which will bring the project closer to the next phase of testing.
The area that received the most attention this time was the Faerthale area. The developers continue to work on environmental aspects – such as Alderwood’s giant trees – and are adding NPCs to several forest areas: Fae Hollow, Mangle Rock, and Alderwood itself. This should make the location more lively and full of characters.
Badiyadkara district has made remarkable progress. NPC background dialogue in Rulun Port is ready, and similar work is in progress for Detihauna. At the same time, the team is finalizing the final dialogue for the key characters players will encounter in these locations.
Previously, the developers have mentioned that they are creating a set of internal tools to speed up the development of character abilities and skills. The new update confirms that these tools help eliminate bottlenecks that previously slowed down the process. Additionally, the update will affect data processing – which should have a positive impact on client-side and server-side performance.
The updated base human model will also work with the new armor system, which has seen significant progress. This week’s focus is on female characters, and a discussion of how to adapt the new armor system for ogres and dwarves.
The developers note that some changes and additions are based on feedback from the Public Test Server (PTR), while others are due to experience gained during development. This means how much direct influence the player has on the final outcome of the game system.
