Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons won’t be long: Team says don’t expect hundreds of hours

When you think of Dungeons & Dragons, one of the first images that comes to mind is of extremely long campaigns, taking weeks, months, or even years, with hundreds of hours invested in the board game. So naturally people think the same thing about video games, and Baldur’s Gate 3 may have reinforced that idea.

In Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, however, things are different. You shouldn’t expect an overly long game.

“It’ll definitely be longer than you’d expect from a linear gamebut it’s not as massive as an open world with hundreds of hours,” Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons studio head Dominic Guay revealed.

“One reason is that we want A denser open worldyou can earn rewards faster by finding items while exploring. So we don’t want to push the distance so far that it takes a long time to get there like other games do. ”

However, Guay delves deeper into the issue, providing more details. “We’re still talking about Dozens of hours, you’ll have a lot of time available. I think in a way one of the reasons this question is so hard to answer is how much you explore and how much you want to advance the story. ”

“If you explore, you will become stronger over timewhich will help you complete the main task. If you really only focus on the main quest, at some point you may find yourself struggling a bit and want to explore to become stronger. ”
