Polish studio Rebel Wolves, which includes many of The Witcher 3’s key developers from CD Projekt Red, has released its first project, Blood of the Dawn Treader. Blood of the Dawn Treader is a story-driven, open-world action RPG set in a medieval valley ruled by vampires. Players control Korn, a human turned vampire, who determines the direction of the story by making decisions, forming alliances, and choosing how to interact with the world around him. Time is one of the key elements of storytelling: days are limited, so completing certain tasks can make other events impossible and affect the fate of the characters. Day and night also change the available capabilities, routes, and options for solving new problems.
The combat system is based on a combination of human and vampire abilities. In human form, Korn uses melee weapons and magic, while vampire form provides supernatural abilities and different fighting styles. Players can explore a variety of open worlds including forests, plains, swamps, mountains, medieval settlements, and ancient ruins in search of additional quests, hidden places, and information about the valley’s past. The choice between different access methods, alliances and priorities allows you to form a personal version of the unfolding of events, while the limited time does not allow you to save all residents and complete all possible missions.
