According to a recent report from market research firm Jon Peddie Research (JPR), sales of discrete graphics processors for consumer PCs increased both quarter-on-quarter (12.2%) and year-on-year (14.1%) in the second quarter of 2026. Shipments of various types of PC GPUs reached 75.5 million units, with the notebook segment becoming the main driver of growth, while shipments of desktop computer solutions declined.
Experts point out that positive dynamics persist even against the backdrop of the global memory crisis and subsequent increase in component prices. Tom’s Hardware estimates that AMD, Intel and Nvidia sold a combined 20 million discrete graphics cards during the reporting period. In the entire GPU market, including integrated graphics cards, Intel ranks first with a 56% share. In second place is Nvidia (23%), followed by AMD (21%), whose position has significantly strengthened during the year, increasing its share by 7 percentage points.
