Almost immediately after Apple’s presentation, the Russian price of the company’s new smartphone was revealed. MTS was one of the first companies to open pre-orders, and the top version of the first folding iPhone sold for nearly 500,000 rubles.

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launched today feature the A20 Pro chip, improved cameras, new Apple Intelligence features, and longer battery life. In the United States, smartphone prices have increased by $100 compared to the previous generation, with iPhone 18 Pro starting at $1,199 and iPhone 18 Pro Max starting at $1,299.

In Russia, prices are significantly higher:

  • iPhone 18 Pro 256 GB – 174,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro 512 GB — 204,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro 1 TB — 264,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro 2 TB — 349,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max 256 GB – 189,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max 512 GB – 219,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max 1 TB — 279,990 rubles;
  • iPhone 18 Pro Max 2 TB — 364,990 rubles.

Prices shown are valid at the booking stage. The exact time when smartphones will appear in Russian retail has not yet been announced. In the first wave of countries, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max will go on sale on September 18, so the first devices in Russia are also expected to be unveiled in September.

However, the main novelty of this presentation was the iPhone Duo – Apple’s first foldable smartphone. The device comes in book form with a 5.4-inch display on the outside, which turns into a 7.6-inch screen when opened. Both support ProMotion and have brightness up to 3,000 nits. The smartphone also features the A20 Pro, two 48-megapixel main cameras, Touch ID in the side button, and support for Apple Pencil.

In the U.S., iPhone Duo starts at $1,999, with the top-of-the-line version with 2TB storage selling for $3,199. Russian prices are as follows:

  • iPhone Duo 256 GB – 299,990 rubles;
  • iPhone Duo 512 GB – 339,990 rubles;
  • iPhone Duo 1 TB — 399,990 rubles;
  • iPhone Duo 2 TB – 489,990 rubles.

Therefore, the most expensive iPhone retailed in Russia is already close to the 500,000 rubles mark.

Unlike the iPhone 18 Pro, the foldable model will have to wait longer. Apple will open pre-orders for the iPhone Duo on October 16, with global sales starting on October 23.

It is also worth noting that the regular version of iPhone 18 was not displayed at the September launch event. Apple has changed its previous smartphone release schedule this year to focus on its autumn flagship models. The basic version of iPhone 18 is expected to be released in spring 2027.
