In 2027, the legendary “Star Wars” will celebrate its 50th birthday, and Lucasfilm has a surprise for fans: the George Lucas film that later became “A New Hope” has been restored again and will be screened in IMAX 70mm format for the first time.

The digital and movie versions will begin screening in select theaters on February 19. Well, the company is celebrating its anniversary next year. That includes the May 28 premiere of Shawn Levy’s “Star Wars: Starfighter,” a movie starring Ryan Gosling that was originally shot in IMAX.
