Following the August release of Game Freak’s new action RPG Beast of Reincarnation, game director and writer Kota Furushima spoke in a recent interview with Famitsu about how the game has been well received by players and shared its plans for further development.
Although Samsara Beast has received mixed reviews, Furushima said the project has attracted a wide audience around the world thanks to Xbox Game Pass, and sales of the PS5 physical version are also strong. The director noted that “more people are playing the game than expected,” but the influx of players has made handling feedback more challenging than the team expected.
Despite the positive response from viewers, Furushima was clear about criticism of the gameplay, controls, pacing, and tutorial system. Since launch, multiple updates have been released to address player complaints, and the development team plans to continue releasing improvements to address any remaining issues.
Recently, the team is considering expanding the ability to skip events and cutscenes. As for the action part, future improvements will affect the responsiveness of the healing mechanism, as well as the redesign of the training phase at the beginning of the game, the progression system, the interface and other elements.
We will announce the exact timing of the update as soon as it is confirmed, but we are actively working to implement these improvements as soon as possible.
To improve the game, developers monitor information from a variety of sources, including support channels, social networks, and game videos and streams.
