Big changes are coming to Hunt: Showdown 1896: the developers are preparing a new night with changing stages, the powerful Burgess shotgun, unusual abilities and a whole bunch of balance changes. Some familiar hunting rules will also be eliminated.
During a blood moon, the map is filled with red light, and its bright phases intensify the storm, making monsters more aggressive and faster. When clouds obscure the moon, visibility deteriorates and monsters return to normal behavior. The arsenal will include a groundbreaking Burgess shotgun with a six-round magazine and two modifications – with bayonet and reinforced stock. The weapon will first be unlocked through the Blood Alliance Battle Pass, and will then enter standard progression.

Balances will also be significantly redrawn. The Hunting Bow will be nerfed, reducing its lethal range and ammo capacity, while the LeMat and Officer’s Revolvers will have less ammo. Instead, Terminus will become more powerful and more accurate. New mechanics include the soon-to-be-expired skill “Pumping Up,” which lets you steal rare abilities from fallen enemies, and “Chupacabra,” which restores health when interacting with animals. Additionally, scout towers, supplies, and extraction points will now be hidden until discovered, and returning players will receive a temporary MMR reduction to ensure that returning after a long break does not turn into an execution.
