Control Resonant: These are the system requirements for the PC version

Finnish development studio Remedy Entertainment has announced the final PC system requirements for Control Resonant in anticipation of its release on September 24. This specification covers a wide range of performance while also demonstrating the extreme requirements of modern rendering technology. If you want to experience action games at 4K resolution, target 60 frames per second, and enable maximum path tracing effects, you’ll need at least an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080. However, this requires using DLSS scaling in performance mode.

Published hardware profiles show clear differences between classic rasterization and advanced ray tracing modes. For a minimum resolution of 1080p at 30 FPS without ray tracing, older graphics cards such as the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT, each with 6 GB of memory, will suffice.

On the other hand, those who rely on maximum visual performance will face heavy demands from the engine. Even to run 1440p at 60 FPS at medium ray tracing settings, studios already need an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 9070.

A core aspect of the system requirements is the permanent integration of upgraded technologies. All performance profiles mentioned by Remedy are based on using rebuild methods such as Nvidia DLSS 4.5 or AMD FSR 4.1. According to the developers, the target framerate is determined without activating the frame generation system, meaning pure intermediate frame generation provides additional headroom.

In terms of main memory, the title is relatively frugal, with 16 GB of RAM required as standard but 120 GB of SSD storage on the hard drive. The huge demand from the enthusiast community once again illustrates the huge computational complexity of complete path tracing.

The new specs once again emphasize the fact that even on high-end hardware, smooth frame rates at native 4K resolution are hard to find without a temporal scaler. In addition to PC, the game will be released simultaneously on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
