Com2uS Holdings has decided on a global release date for multiplayer action role-playing game God of War: Iron Herald. After a brief soft launch in a limited number of countries, the game will be released globally on September 15, 2026. Second Dive Studios’ project will be released on PC and mobile devices, with support for cross-platform multiplayer.
Let us remember that the game was originally released in South Korea in 2023 under the name God of War: Rise of the Guardians, but in the MMORPG genre. In a public interview, development lead Kwak Geun-chul said that the team initially wanted to break away from the usual formula of a medieval MMORPG and focus on futuristic clothing, high-tech weapons, and space exploration. The developers also confirmed plans to expand the story, add new planets, and develop non-combat activities such as fishing and archaeology. The team is also preparing PvP content, which is expected to launch in September, while single-player PvE content with additional clothing usage options is planned to launch around October.
The main feature of the combat system is the ability to switch between the two suits on the fly. Each of them uses its own mechanics, so players can change their fighting style mid-battle, combining abilities with blocking and dodging. There are four classes to choose from: Engineer, Warlord, Hunter, and Warlock.
Developers also rely on vertical exploration of the world and movement using vehicles. In the game, you can fight on giant machines, participate in Valkyrie dogfights, and travel on a hoverbike. Group content includes raids and “Pilgrim Raid”, where players team up to take on the main boss.
