MSI has finally confirmed the existence of a second configuration of its Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld computer, designed to offer the benefits of the new model Less expensive than models with Arc G3 Extreme.
The new variant is identified by the abbreviation CG3M and officially joins the existing CG3EM and CG3EM Launch Pack configurations in the MSI files. The model has appeared on US retailers’ price lists in recent months, but has not been shown directly by the manufacturer.
MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3M: Changing Graphics Chip
The main difference compared to more powerful configurations is the processor. Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3EM actually uses the Intel Arc G3 Extreme platform, equipped with 12 Xe3 core Arc B390 GPU, while the new CG3M uses Arc G3 Platform Standard Edition.
In this case, the integrated GPU is an Arc B370 with 10 Xe3 cores, running at 2.2 GHz and delivering up to 90 TOPS INT8. Therefore, the reduction in graphics resources should result in lower game performance, but it allows MSI to target devices at a more affordable price level.

This configuration also appears again in the US CompSource catalog as CG3M-072USY and part number CLAW8EX0272. List price is $1,499even though the product is currently sold out, it cannot therefore be considered a definite indication of actual availability.
Previous information from retailers also indicated that 32 GB LPDDR5X memory and 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The device should also include the same 8-inch panel as the higher version, with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and support for VRR.
However, MSI has yet to release a product page specifically for the CG3M, nor has it announced an official marketing date. As such, this model seems destined to represent the cheapest entry point into the new-generation Claw, but Price, availability and performance differences in Europe still need to be clarified Compared to the Arc G3 Extreme variant.
However, the confirmation in the official MSI document dispels the main doubts that arose when it first appeared in the catalog: the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3M is a real configuration and not a simple price list error.
