WhatsApp calling will soon reach even those without accounts: To participate, simply open a browser link, using a system designed to maintain end-to-end encrypted activity.
This novelty expands the already announced text conversation functionality and brings the same principles to calls. The work was discovered in the WhatsApp beta for iOS 26.36.10.71, distributed via TestFlight, but has not yet been made available to beta testers.
How WhatsApp calling guests works
To invite people who don’t have a WhatsApp account, you can Generate links directly from the Call tabchoose to make a voice call or a video call. The link can be shared within WhatsApp, copied to clipboard or sent via other apps. On the same screen, you can also add appointments to your calendar.
