At the last BlizzCon, CD Projekt Red confirmed that it would release “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered” and “Cyberpunk 2077” on the Battle.net launcher before the end of the year. However, despite an expanded catalog thanks to projects from third-party publishers, including projects from Microsoft, Bethesda, and Activision, the platform’s management has made it clear that it’s not seeking to compete with Steam or the Epic Games Store.
In an interview with Polygon, Blizzard representative Andrew Guerrero emphasized that the service does not plan to launch a free self-publishing function for games. The company’s strategy is based on rigorous curation and focus on a dedicated audience: only high-quality items that will truly appeal to fans of the classic Blizzard franchise will be added to the store, thus avoiding catalog clutter.
