According to Zelnick, consumer awareness of a product does not equate to the hype surrounding it: “You have no choice. You need to take to the streets and create this enthusiasm”.
Zelnick believes that in terms of public awareness, “GTA VI” is comparable to the 2023 comedy movie “Barbie”, with advertisements in almost every corner.
“We’ve all seen the movie Barbie. Even though it’s widely known, they advertised the photo until their eyes sparkled.<...> They put together a phenomenal marketing campaign. It’s everywhere, and, by the way, it actually works. “Zelnick pointed out.

Video games require familiarity with gameplay more than movies or TV shows, so GTA VI’s 27-minute extended gameplay serves both educational and demonstrative purposes.
At the same time, Take-Two’s main mission is to release a truly high-quality game: “If a product sucks, you can do ad nauseam and people will still pass by it.”.
GTA VI will be released on PS5, Xbox Series X and S on November 19th, with a PC version rumored to be coming soon. Unlike the official soundtrack album, the game itself will not be released on disc (code included in the box).
