A massive 200 GB file containing Rockstar Games project work data and source code has been leaked online. According to community surveys and bloggers such as TJGM, the leak contains a code library extracted by a hacker named teapotuberhacker in 2022, which includes early sketches of the GTA 6 map, materials for the canceled Trevor expansion in GTA 5, and large expansion files liberty city.
Unearthed documents reveal the developers’ ambitious plans to cancel story missions, from stopping an EMP drone launch over Los Santos to a space mission to rescuing the president after Air Force One crashes.
However, experts and fan resource managers caution that the leaked files date back in time (including material from Part 6 in 2015), so they only reflect the early stages of production and cannot be considered the final vision for the game.
